AKCEZ is one of the new, dynamic, and experienced players in the electricity distribution and retail sales industry and is continuously expanding in Turkey. AKCEZ is a joint venture company established by the Akkök Holding, one of the leading industrial groups in Turkey, and ČEZ Group, one of the Europe's leading energy companies.

During the restructuring of the energy market and the privatization of electricity distribution companies in Turkey, the AKCEZ joint venture company took over SEDAŞ, one of the first electricity distribution companies to be privatized on February 11, 2009. AKCEZ has realized the initials of the distribution and retail sales operations, also it has been carrying on servicing with its Group Companies by aiming the qualified service and customer satisfaction in the energy industry.

SEDAŞ, taken over by AKCEZ Enerji Yatırımları Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Energy Investments Industry and Trade Inc.) has been carrying on its retail sales operations as well as the electricity distribution operations that it has been carrying on in Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bolu and Düzce as a distribution company, it has unbundled its operations, which have been carried on as SEDAŞ electricity distribution company, within the restructuring operations of the free competition market in Turkey, according to regulations in the industry, as a result of the restructuring and regulation operations in accordance with the “Procedures and Principles Concerning the Legal Unbundling of Distribution and Retail Sales Operations” resolution of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority.

Retail sales company SEPAŞ, which unbundled from the distribution company under the unbundling of , has been present in the industry since January 1, 2013 and is outgrowing its workspace with each passing day with the aim of servicing not only its customers in Sakarya, Kocaeli, Bolu, and Düzce but also those all across the Turkey.
